SMI Catgut sutures are natural, absorbable surgical threads made from purified collagen derived from healthy bovine intestines. These sutures are ideal for veterinary procedures requiring short- to medium-term wound support. Catgut is widely trusted for its handling characteristics, knot security, and compatibility with delicate tissue structures.

Available in both Plain Catgut and Chromic Catgut, each variant offers specific advantages:

• Plain Catgut provides rapid absorption (approx. 7–10 days), suitable for quickly healing tissues or ligations.

• Chromic Catgut is treated with chromium salts to prolong absorption (approx. 21–40 days), making it ideal for slower-healing wounds and internal closures.
